Music in Their Souls
Our church is fortunate enough to have wonderful musicians that carry on the traditions of Lucy Downie, Dorthy Jones and many more who have played here in the past.
The ‘Jones girls’ – Susan Wismer, Peggy Davidson, and Melanie Jones, are the daughters of Maurie and Dorthy Jones. They started their musical careers at their mother’s knee and then went on to take lessons from Carol Jones, Lucy Downie and some talented teachers in Aberdeen. Peggy continued her musical education and majored in music in college. In addition, she has been the choir leader in our church for quite a few years. She is our main organist/pianist, with the other girls filling in for one another as required.
When not playing the organ or piano, the girls are a wonderful addition to our choir.
